Congress Articles
A conference article goes beyond mere publication, as it is associated with an event typically of 3-5 days in a specific location, where experts from the international scientific community from a certain field of study meet. Therefore, it is a splendid opportunity to donetworkingwith new colleagues that can lead to future collaborations, in addition to allowing us to know the world. To paraphrase a good friend, if magazine articles werestudio albums, those of congress could be consideredlive concerts. In fact, they are usually associated with the realization of a presentation of the work, which helps to gain experience in the exhibition and understanding / answering questions, very useful in the training of future doctors. Undoubtedly, the contributory weight is the journal articles, so it is important to intelligently balance the contributions of the congress and journal in which you participate, being ideally a preliminary publication of congress that culminates with a more developed publication in journal.
Congresses
International
Focusing on my area of interest, Automatic Control, there are 4 major congresses worldwide, organized by the most cutting-edge associations in the sector, specifically it is the Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE), IFAC World Congress (IFAC), American Control Conference (AACC) and European Control Conference (EUCA). Beyond this "Big-four", there is a wide range of international congresses of smaller caliber that allow you to gain experience in the sector. The destinations of the international congresses in which I have publications are detailed in the following map, which includes other trips related to the academic world such as stays or workshops.

Congresses
Nacionales
El congreso nacional de control automático por excelencia son las llamadas Jornadas de Automática, organized annually since 1977 by the Spanish Committee of Automation (CEA) in collaboration with a university in the Spanish territory. The conference is characterized by a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, which allows young researchers to introduce themselves in a friendly way in the field of automation, and share experiences with national eminences of the sector. Unlike other congresses, instead of a presentation of the work requires the preparation of a poster with the most relevant results of the research, which is exposed during the days of duration of the congress.
